FREERIDEWEAR

OUTERWEAR FOR FREERIDING

All good things come in threes – and that's certainly true when it comes to functional outerwear for freeriding. Since temperatures and weather conditions in off-piste terrain are often very changeable, the application of the so-called ‘onion principle’ is recommended:

FIRST: Base Layer

The first layer, also called the base layer, is in direct contact with the body and is often compared to a second skin. It should be barely noticeable, made of quick-drying materials, and wick sweat away from the skin. Technical shirts and underwear are ideal for this purpose. They regulate the temperature and prevent excessive moisture on the skin and subsequently body odour for exceptional comfort.

BASE LAYER

Midlayer

Midlayers are primarily for thermal insulation and can be sweaters, hoodies or vests depending on the outside temperature. Martini Sportswear uses high-quality technical materials such as PrimaLoft®. They warm the body and reliably wick moisture to the exterior. Ideal for feeling good in any sporting situation.

THIRDLY: Shell Layer

The third and outermost functional layer, the so-called shell layer, protects the body from snow, water and wind. In this context, Martini Sportswear focuses in particular on jackets made of materials such as Pertex® Shield and PrimaLoft®. What do all these technologies have in common? They feature waterproof and windproof properties, as well as the best breathability possible, and allow for optimal freedom of movement.

A clear advantage of the three functional layers: Depending on the weather and body temperature, one of the three layers can be easily removed or added! Learn more about layering sportswear in the Martini Style Guide.

OPTIMAL SKI TROUSERS FOR FREERIDING

The three-layer principle provides ideal protection for the upper body during freeriding. To ensure the same for the lower extremities, the functional legwear should also be breathable, thermally insulating, waterproof and windproof.

The ski trousers for freeriders from Martini Sportswear fulfil all these requirements: Thanks to Pertex® Shield, they are breathable and thus support natural air circulation. They protect against wetness, snow and wind and are extremely robust and abrasion-resistant. At the same time, they are elastic, extremely comfortable to wear and allow a large range of movement.
