LAYERING & TRIMMING MATERIALS

HOW DO LAYERING AND TRIMMING MATERIALS WORK?

Wind- and waterproof or water repellent fabrics for jackets and trousers have a thin membrane or coating on the inside of the outer material. These ensure that no moisture can get in or that wind is kept out. At the same time the (membrane) layer supports the fabric’s breathability and helps effectively transport moisture away from the body – for a dry, comfy feeling.

WHAT IS THE DWR COATING?

Waterproof and water-repellent outdoor clothing has an additional PFC-free DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating on the outside or the upper material. It ensures that raindrops and snowflakes are repelled.

HOW SUSTAINABLE ARE LAYERING AND TRIMMING MATERIALS?

Particularly sustainable layering and trimming fabrics are made from recycled materials, like Pertex® Revolve™, a premium waterproof functional fabric made from 100% recycled polyester, which can be fully recycled at the end of its lifecycle.
