CROSS-COUNTRY CLOTHING

THE ONION PRINCIPLE

Copy an onion and wear your cross-country skiing clothing in layers! Layering involves combining different layers of clothing, taking into account the outside temperature, weather conditions, the type of sport and your personal temperature perception. Moisture wicking, temperature regulation, weather protection: Each functional layer has a specific main function. Sufficient freedom to move is important in all situations.

First Layer, Second Layer, Third Layer: From the interior to the exterior, Martini Sportswear now takes a closer look at the individual functional layers. Let's go!

The BASE: First Layer

Create a reliable base! What it takes for this is, on the one hand, functional underwear. On the other hand, the so-called first layer also includes all other items of clothing worn right next to the skin. This ranges from socks to long and short johns, vests and functional shirts.

The moisture-regulating material is particularly important. The goal is for the skin to feel dry even during demanding training. The functional shirts from Martini Sportswear are also elastic and soft, which guarantees excellent wearing comfort. Choose from a wide range of products, including different thermal classes!

BASE LAYER

THE ‘GOLDEN' MIDDLE: SECOND LAYER

The second layer is primarily used to regulate body heat. Deciding which style is best for you depends on how intensely you work out and your personal temperature preference. At Martini Sportswear, you will find a wide selection of functional mid-layers – from lightweight fleece jackets and cross-country skiing vests to extra-warm cross-country skiing sweaters.

Top tip: Styles with a zip! This makes it easy to regulate your body temperature on your cross-country skiing tour.

MIDLAYER JACKETS

The protective layer: Third layer

The third and outermost layer of clothing acts as a kind of protective shield against wind and weather. The third layer should therefore be at least wind and water repellent, if not wind and waterproof. Martini Sportswear recommends styles with PrimaLoft® or G-Loft® for this. Materials that score highly in terms of warmth, breathability and insulation.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING TROUSERS FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE

From close-fitting tights to casual multisport trousers made of softshell: Martini Sportswear offers a wide range of cross-country skiing trousers. For aerodynamic reasons, professional cross-country skiers usually opt for styles that are tailored to fit closely to the body. Minimal use of materials also means maximum freedom to move for many. A useful addition in freezing temperatures: special insulating skirts and trousers.

PANTS

ACCESSORIES ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF CROSS-COUNTRY CLOTHING

In addition to arms, torso and legs, your head and hands also need protection when cross-country skiing. Especially in the occasionally harsh winter weather, accessories made of premium functional materials are a must. After all, it is not only cross-country skiing clothing that is designed to wick away moisture quickly and to be highly breathable; fashionable accessories are also dedicated to this cause.

Is it very cold and windy on the cross-country ski trail? Then windproof accessories are a good idea. Face masks provide reliable protection for the face. Alternatively, tube scarves can simply be pulled in front of the face.
